Europe 2019

Well, in typical "my life" fashion, a monkey had to throw in a wrench!

Last night, as I was packing, making sure I had everything that I needed for our six-week trip, (medication is the number one item) I began charging the essentials: iPad, Surface Pro, and headphones. Notice I did not say a cell phone, as we still have our dumb phone, and will not be using it for our trip.

We will be staying connected through our iPads.

The Surface is a new addition, a hand-me-down that I know little about. I am praying that it will allow me to continue writing and posting my travels without the aggravation that my iPad gave me during our last trip. It's trial runs have been great; until last night, when it decided to drain the battery, completely, while it is in shut--off mode. every single time I shut it down.

After researching this issue, before I went to bed, and again in the morning, I found that this seems to be a common problem, so I decided, not long before we were heading to the airport, to reset the Surface back to factory settings in hopes that this solves my problem. If anyone has any other "fixes" please let me know.

By some small miracle, I managed to complete the reset before our neighbor arrived to take us to the airport.

Once we got to the airport, several hours before our flight, I thought I would turn on the Surface, try and charge it up and see what the status was, which of course, created the "enter your pin", "that is not your pin", and "you do not have internet";( duh!) debacle, as I am at the airport, have reset everything, and know NOTHING!

Aggravation galore!

Eventually,  I did manage to get online, reset my password, and charge up the Surface; thus far, it seems to have worked, so my little fingers shall remain happy campers, on this trip!

Grateful that is behind me and grateful for our neighbor Jennifer for dropping us off at the airport!

We are on our way; first stop Newark. We get in late tonight and will spend tomorrow in the city. Our flight to Barcelona leaves at midnight, tomorrow.

I have found that it is better to break up the long flight, by staying in New York on the way to Europe, as well as on the way home. I am going to try my very best NOT to exhaust myself and to stay well throughout the entire trip.

If you wish to "opt out" of my travels, just delete or pass me by.

Bon Voyage!
